Damo Bailey Music was birthed from a desire to reinforce the musical culture in Margaret River, Western Australia. Having moved to the town in 2015 and seeing the quality of street music and cosmopolitan musical culture, it became something of a dream to be a part of it.
Starting small with volunteering at the local Primary School, it fast became an easy thing to step out of the school grounds and give the young bands we’d mentored a go on a public stage.

Musicianship:

I’ve played the guitar since I was 18, and now play Bass, Guitar, Keys and Drums to a proficient level. Mentoring and administrating Youth Bands from the age of 22.

Training:

I’m a VET level qualified Trainer and Assessor and have worked previously in the construction, VET, and Pastoral Care sectors.

Current Roles:

I'm currently directing the bands for primary aged children at MR Independent School (since 2022) and Rapids Landing Primary School (since 2019). It’s also a privilege to mentor active bands during the week.

Broader Interests:

I have interests in all creative industries, Carpentry, Luthier, Piano Tuning and Restoration, Electronics repair, Creative Arts and the technical aspects of Sound and Lighting installation.

My goal is to build community by encouraging students to serve their audience selflessly through music, fostering shared experiences that bring people together and leave lasting memories.
